Happy New Year!
This is Daizo in London.
2010 was a year of big events, not only for the group itself, but for us executives too, and I apologize for the lack of entries for the past little while.
I realize that writing a personal note has been ages ago, so I'm just gonna write a little about my trip, if you don't mind.
My travels have gone beyond more than 15 countries, and I am finally settled down at my destination, the UK.
Since I've come here, it's been freezing cold, and I've had a lot of difficulty moving around, but I was able to squeeze in a show before the year ends.
It was a great experience for me to play somewhere other than Vancouver, where no one would know me, and I would know no one. Unfortunately, the show was a failure (with all honesty), but it was a big advancement for me as I was able to acquire a knowledge of the scene, and learn some ways in which I could improve myself and my technique in order to compete with the virtuosos in the UK.
As for aspects other than music, I have to admit the UK was not the place I have long dreamed of.
The tube system is unbelievably unreliable and expensive, the banks and libraries are inconvenient and rarely open, and the roads are not quite clean. However, there are many pleasant sides to the story as well, with free admission art galleries, and lots of event organizers hosting shows (I mean... man, where are all the organizers in Vancouver!?).
In fact, today, I went over to visit the National Gallery and Tate Modern. Both are free galleries with many beautiful pieces by famous artists. This was my second time visiting both but I felt like I still didn't have time to see enough. As a fan of Monet, I spent a lot of time in front of his art, and bought myself a late Christmas gift... a book of Monet and his works at the shop in Tate.

I also went over to Denmark Street (aka Tin Can Alley) to stroll around some music instrument shops. I'm still a little unstable with my income so I didn't really buy anything, but I did keep a note of some unique guitar patch cables that they had in stock... they were really nice!

As I get around a little bit more, I'll write some stuff I find here, and post them on the blog.
Stay tuned and enjoy the teeny-weeny bit you have left of the holidays.
